ELAC / Advisory Council
OGCS values the active involvement of families and encourages the participation of parents, guardians, and students in the school’s English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)/Advisory Council, which was established to facilitate communication between all members of the OGCS community and to help meet the goals and objectives of the Charter School. The Advisory Council provides an important forum for bringing together parents, guardians, teachers, and students, to hold structured dialogue about the educational program, with a particular eye towards programs and services for English Learners.

Required council composition shall include at least two parents, two staff members, and two students. Parents or guardians of English learners shall constitute at least the same percentage of the ELAC membership as their children represent of the student body.
